The one where Mike fights Apocalypse because Apocalypse don’t care.
In this week’s episode, Mike and Jay have a spoilerific talk about the new entry into the Fox XMCU, X-Men: Apocalypse, as well as Marvel Comics’ recent misstep with Captain America; in that similar movie vein, they also discuss possible James Bond replacements.
I’m not completely sure, but I think that the release of Averngers: Age of Ultron signaled the begnning of the summer moviegoing season. If that movie did not kickstart the season, the upcoming release of Mad Max: Fury Road will start the season off to a bang, at least that’s what it looks like based on the fireballs upon fireballs in the trailer. And recently we saw the heartbreaking cancellation of a fan favorite, nearly instant classic yet-to-be-released Silent Hills “playable trailer,” or p.t. Not a great way to start the summer, but it could be worse than losing an anticipated game title.
This is a time when Mike and I try to see as many movies and play as many games as possible (well, Mike gets in as much gaming as possible anyways). We also had times in our lives when we lived for the summer and sleeping in, watching cable all day, and only playing outside when no one was looking. And of course, we died when school started and we had wake up early again.
Since we have the SoundCloud account that allows for seemingly limitless content upload, look for some more content to be uploaded there in the coming weeks, hopefully targeted on a specifc topic. Those topics will probably be focused primarily on movies or gaming; yes, we have both of those in our regular eps, but we might just focus on one title, possibly a retro favorite in gaming or movies. Mike and I spent a lot of summer hours during our youth playing videogames and watcihng movies, so we have a trove of experiences to recall.
Please join us for our summer series, Untenably Yours, as we take a trip down memory lane and over sentimentalize our youth. This is a chance for the indoor kids to celebrate the culture of the sedantary lifestyle.
