Spartans Never Die

by Mike

It’s been nearly two years since I went MIA from Xbox but as of today, I’m back. Well, I picked up the Xbox One on Saturday but today I snagged a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It’s the perfect way, I think, to come home. I had been resisting the idea of getting XB1 but every time I saw a bit on this collection it made it harder and harder to stay away.

It’s amazing the pull this series has on me. I don’t know what it is about this series that connects with me. Is it that the designs of the UNSC gear are reminiscent of James Cameron’s Aliens? The strong protagonist going up against all odds? The great soundtrack in each of the games? Whatever it is, I cannot wait to play through these games again but this time in HD and in co-op with friends.

Now I just need to decide if I want to play them in chronological order or if I want to jump straight to Halo 2 and Halo 3. Playing them in order would be good but I played Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 4 on 360. In any case, it’ll be a good time with an old friend who’s been gone too long.

Welcome Home, Master Chief
